This policy is written in the first person because it is a promise, not a description of one. It covers liacare.co and the Liacare devices we are building.
We do not put a camera or an always-listening microphone into anyone’s living space. The Nightlight detects a fall with radar — radio waves that read the shape and speed of a movement and physically cannot take a picture. Its microphone and speaker wake only when both radars agree that something is wrong. Day to day nothing listens and nothing is recorded, and the analysis happens on the device rather than on our servers.
The Nightlight has no camera and no lens. The Liacare Hub, which is not yet on sale, is planned with a camera behind a mechanical privacy shutter that stays closed except during a video call started by the person at home. We do not record, log, intercept or store those video feeds on our servers.
A Liacare device is usually bought by one person for another person’s home. Because the analysis happens on the device, we do not watch anyone ourselves. It is the buyer’s responsibility to obtain the explicit consent of the person whose home the device goes into, before installing it.
Payments are taken by Fourthwall, which is the merchant of record for our shop. Fourthwall handles your name, email address, billing and shipping details and your card. Liacare receives your name, email address, shipping address and order ID, and whether you asked to be notified about the Liacare Hub or the Care advisor service. We never receive or store your card number. Fourthwall’s own privacy policy applies to what it holds.
If you ask for the home safety checklist or for build updates, we store the email address you typed and which form you used, in a Google spreadsheet that only the Liacare team can open. You can unsubscribe from any email we send, and you can ask us to delete the address.
liacare.co loads Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) pixel on every page. They set cookies and receive technical data — IP address, browser, which pages you looked at — and we send them an event when someone requests the checklist or starts a checkout. We do not send them your name, your email address or what is in your order. There is no cookie banner on this site today: these load on every visit. Your browser’s tracking protection or any ad blocker stops them, and the site works fully without them.
We use what we collect to take and fulfil orders, process refunds, answer your email, and send the updates you asked for. We do not sell your personal information for money. Google and Meta receive the data described in section 4.3 for measurement and advertising; under some US state privacy laws that counts as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising even though no money changes hands. That is the whole list of companies that see any of your data today: Fourthwall for the order, Google for the analytics and for the spreadsheet that holds the email list, and Meta for the pixel. We will update this policy before that changes, and we will hand your data to anyone else only where the law requires it.
If you live in California or another state with a consumer privacy law, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and opt out of sharing for advertising. We will not treat you differently for asking. Email business@liacare.co with “Privacy Rights Request” in the subject line and we will answer within 45 days.
We hold as little as possible, which is the only security measure that never fails: fall detection runs on the device, so there is no cloud store of what happens in the home to breach, and we never hold a card number — Fourthwall does. liacare.co is served over HTTPS. Order records and the email list sit in accounts that only the Liacare team can open. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, and email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Liacare products are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 where state law sets that age, and we delete it promptly if we learn that we have.
We will update this policy as Liacare moves from a pre-launch site to shipping hardware, and if we register a company. Material changes update the “Last Updated” date above. If a change affects an order you have already placed, we will email you.
